The Principal Secretary for Lands, Mr Denis Barbe, signed an agreement with Jan De Nul Dredging Ltd to commence the first phase of dredging works at Ile Aurore.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of President Patrick Herminie, Vice President Sebastien Pillay, Secretary of State for Lands and Housing Mr Joseph Francois, and other distinguished officials.
The 3 projects are the Ile Aurore extension, Zone 20 (near Landfill) extension and zone 5 (near Pangia) and will be executed in 2 phases. The land reclamation project will create over 570,000 square metres of new land, primarily for economic development, and will be carried out in line with approved construction plans and Planning Authority guidelines.
