In his address, Vice President Pillay noted that the project forms part of a wider portfolio of infrastructure works being brought to completion under the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency. He added that there has been continuous engagement with contractors to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and on expected standards.
He also highlighted the importance of putting in place a proper management structure for the facility, stressing the role of the early childhood sector and the contribution of the Institute of Early Childhood Development (IECD) in supporting such services.
The Vice President expressed his satisfaction that the Mont Fleuri district now has a modern-day care facility and emphasised the importance of continued collaboration with Local Government to see more community projects come to life. He noted that such facilities must be properly utilised to meet the needs of the community.
Vice President Pillay also thanked all those who contributed to the completion of the project. The restructuring of the day care centre was carried out at a cost of SCR 5 million.
