On Saturday, 31st January, the Secretary of State for Lands, Housing and Infrastructure, Mr Joseph Francois, led a delegation comprising representatives from the Department of Lands, SIA, PMC, and the Planning Authority, accompanied by the respective Members of the National Assembly for the districts. The team conducted a series of site visits across South East and East Mahé, including Anse Royale, Au Cap, Anse Aux Pins, Pointe Larue, Cascade, and Bel Air.
The visits aimed to identify solutions to long-standing challenges and address cross-cutting issues requiring coordinated decisions from multiple government agencies within the Lands and Housing portfolio. Where proposed solutions were not feasible, alternative approaches were identified through on-site discussions with district authorities. This systematic approach of high-level government site visits will continue on weekends throughout the year to resolve community issues and improve the living conditions of the people served.
Taking solutions to the ground.
